Introduction

ALM / Busy Circuits is a British audio equipment company. It began when founder Matthew Allum released the original Pamela's Workout in 2012, and has since made more than 50 Eurorack modules, software and standalone instruments.

Clocks and samplers are its signature modules. Pamela's PRO Workout is an eight-output clock and modulation source tied to a BPM master clock. Squid Salmple is an eight-channel audio and CV sampler. MFX is a stereo multi-effects processor, and Akemie's Castle is a four-operator FM oscillator using Yamaha chips.

Matthew writes that an unusual clock needed to synchronize an old MFB drum machine led to his first module. He made 50 units, needing to sell only half to break even, but they sold out quickly and ALM grew from there. He enjoys translating digital processing from the 1980s and 1990s and ideas from older machines into patchable Eurorack, creating instruments with character in both their appearance and feel.

Pamela's PRO Workout and Squid Salmple are lucky draw prizes at MODULARHABIT 2026.
