DJ Bowlcut

Using the title “DATA JOCKEY”, DJ Bowlcut pursues genres rooted in minimal house, leftfield and dub techno. Building on a background as a turntablist, DJ Bowlcut combines modular synths, vintage hardware and digital technology, and the core of DJ Bowlcut's practice is bringing energy into a space through distinctive mixing. As the operator of Seoul Community Radio, DJ Bowlcut is building the heart of a network that connects venues, collectives and brands in Seoul's underground scene, and DJ Bowlcut regularly throws distinctive minimal house and dub techno parties in Seoul with the Afterform collective and the Morsecode crew. Through the recently launched personal label, Principauté de Bowl-Air, DJ Bowlcut reinterprets experiences and sounds from Seoul and elsewhere as deep minimal, dub and micro house, aiming to bring a sound unique to Korea to the minimal and micro scene.
